Terms of Use

The conditions for using StemStudio (the Service). Using it means you accept them.

Last updated: 24 August 2026

1. Scope

These terms apply to every tool, page and related feature served at www.stemstudio.jp. Tarasque, the Windows Japanese input method formerly distributed on the same domain, ended distribution and sales in September 2026; for transactions already concluded, its sales terms (the Japanese "Specified Commercial Transactions" notice) and its own privacy policy continue to apply.

2. Price and registration

The browser tools are free. No account is required and there is no usage cap. This is not a guarantee that they will be free forever, but any change would be announced on the site in advance.

3. How your files are handled

The Service does not upload the files you select. Audio, video, images, PDFs and text are all processed inside your browser. Neither the contents nor the filenames leave your device. The "What is sent" page sets this out in full.

As a consequence, none of your files exist on our side. There is no storage feature, and anything in progress is lost when you close the tab. Download what you need before you leave.

4. Copyrighted material

You may use the Service only on material you own, material you have permission to use, or material within the scope of private use. Stem separation and vocal removal will technically work on anyone’s recording; that they work is not the same as their being permitted.

Redistributing, publishing or commercially exploiting files produced with the Service is your responsibility to clear. In particular, do not use material obtained by circumventing copy protection on a streaming service.

The Service provides processing tools only and is not in a position to verify the rights in whatever you choose to process. If a dispute arises with a third party, you resolve it at your own responsibility and expense.

5. What you may not do

Please do not: break the law or public order; infringe anyone’s rights; interfere with the Service (including automated bulk access or placing excessive load on it); or redistribute copies of the Service without permission.

6. About the results

Results depend on the material itself and on your device. In stem separation, a widely spread stereo vocal or a heavily reverberant mix can leave traces in the other parts. In compression, how much you gain depends on the original quality. No particular quality, accuracy or outcome is guaranteed.

When processing stops partway, the cause is usually device memory or a browser feature that is not available. Each page states which models run on which devices, but operation in every environment is not guaranteed.

7. Disclaimer

The Service is provided as is. We are not liable for loss arising from using it, or from being unable to use it, except where caused by our wilful misconduct or gross negligence.

The Service may be changed, suspended or discontinued without notice. Changes on the browser side can also stop individual tools from working.

8. Advertising and links

The Service carries advertising, including Google AdSense. It may also carry affiliate links to third-party products and services; where it does, they are labelled as advertising.

The goods and services offered through ads and external links, and the terms on which they are offered, are the responsibility of their providers. Carrying a link is not a warranty of quality or safety.

9. Changes to these terms

These terms may be revised. A revised version applies from the moment it is published on the Service. Significant changes are reflected in the last-updated date on this page.

10. Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms are governed by Japanese law. Any dispute relating to the Service is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction, in the first instance, of the court having jurisdiction over the operator’s location.
