About this tool

An honest, color-based mechanism
This is not "AI recognizes the subject and cuts it out." It makes pixels close to the color you clicked transparent. Works well on single-color backgrounds (white product shots, logos, green screens) — not on photos with busy or multi-colored backgrounds.
Soft edges
Switching abruptly from opaque to transparent at the threshold leaves jagged edges. Fading gradually near the threshold keeps the edge smooth.
Re-pick the color any time
The four image corners are picked as a starting guess. Click anywhere on the image to re-pick as many times as you like.

How to use it

  1. Drop the image

    Click the box above or drag and drop.

  2. Pick the background color

    Click the color you want to remove on the left image. A preview appears on the right.

  3. Adjust and save

    Use "Color closeness" to control the removed range and "Soften the edge" for the edge finish, then save as PNG.

About the mechanism

Can it cut out a person or animal automatically?
No. This tool only judges by color closeness. Recognizing a subject and removing just the background needs a machine-learning segmentation model, which this tool does not carry. It suits single-color backgrounds.
How should I set "Color closeness"?
Start low and raise it gradually if background remains. Too high and part of the subject (clothing or objects close in color to the background) becomes transparent too.
What about a background with shadows or a gradient?
Shadowed areas look different from the picked color, so they need a higher "color closeness" to remove — which risks removing part of the subject too. This tool suits backgrounds closer to a single flat color.

FAQ

Can I use the saved image in another tool?
Yes — "Save to the bench" places it on this device, where tools like image compression or file conversion can pick it up directly.
Can I save as JPEG?
No. JPEG has no alpha channel, so this tool always saves as PNG.
Is the image sent to a server?
No. Reading and processing both happen entirely in the browser.
