Does it work on a phone?

Yes. Buttons for move, rotate and drop appear below the board, and you can also control it on the board itself: swipe sideways to move, tap to rotate, swipe down to drop. The board is sized to fit a portrait screen in full.

Not by default. Press the "Sound: off" button to turn it on, and the setting is remembered on this device. It is simple tones only — there is no music.

Can I move my score to another device?

No. The record exists only in this browser and nothing is sent to a server, so there is nothing to transfer and no way to transfer it.

I closed the tab by accident.

You can continue. The board, score and next piece are saved, so reopening the page offers a "Continue" button. The save is cleared when a game ends, so reopening after a game over starts fresh.

Does it work offline?

Yes. Once the page has loaded, everything runs inside the browser. Switching to airplane mode is the clearest way to confirm it.

Why clear four rows at once?

Four single clears are 100 x 4 = 400 points; four at once is 800, exactly double. Score is then multiplied by the level, so the gap widens the further you get. This is why strong players stack high while keeping one column open and wait for the long piece. Stack too high and you top out before it arrives — judging how long to wait is most of this game.

How much faster does each level get?

At level 1 a piece falls one row every 0.8 seconds, and each level takes 0.07 seconds off. At level 11 it reaches 0.08 seconds and stops getting faster. From there the speed is constant and the game becomes purely a question of how long you last. The level rises every ten cleared rows.

What happens when a rotation will not fit

If the rotated shape would overlap something, the game tries one column left, one right, two left and two right, in that order, and rotates at the first position that fits. Knowing this lets you stand the long piece upright while pressed against a wall, which is how you feed the open column at the edge.

Nobody can see your score

The score and the best score live in this browser on this device. There is no leaderboard and no account. Open the page on another device and you start from zero; clear your browser data and the record goes with it. Note that private browsing may block storage entirely, in which case nothing survives closing the tab.

Why this one

The landing spot is shown: A faint shadow marks where the current piece will come to rest. Without it, stacking becomes guesswork at speed, so this is not a beginner aid but what makes the game playable at all — you can still place pieces deliberately at high levels.
Rotation works against a wall: A rotation that would overlap the wall or the stack is not simply refused: the piece is nudged one or two columns aside and rotated there if that fits. Without it, reaching a wall removes your options and the game turns into a chore.
Close the tab and come back: The board, the score and the next piece are all stored on this device. Reopen the page and "Continue" picks up where you left off. Nothing reaches a server, which also means nobody here can see what anyone scored.

On a computer: arrow keys, Up or X to rotate, Space to drop instantly. On a phone: the buttons below, or swipe the board sideways, tap to rotate and swipe down to drop.
Complete a row to clear it
Fill a row with no gaps and it disappears. Four rows at once scores the most. Every ten rows the level rises and the pieces fall faster.
