Are my files uploaded?
No. Reading, converting and saving all happen inside your browser, and the file is never sent anywhere. No account is needed either.

In: images as JPG, PNG, WebP, HEIC, AVIF, GIF, SVG, BMP and ICO; audio as MP3, WAV, M4A, FLAC, OGG, Opus and AIFF among others; and the audio track of video files (MP4, MOV, WebM and more). Out: PNG, JPG, WebP, WAV and MP3 — those five.
Can I convert a video into another video format?
No. Re-encoding picture would mean downloading a roughly 30 MB engine first, and it has not been confirmed to run reliably here, so it is switched off. From a video, only the audio (MP3 or WAV) can be taken out.
Does converting lose quality?
It depends where it is going. Converting to PNG or WAV adds no new loss. JPG, WebP and MP3 are lossy, so converting into them does lose quality. Taking a file that was already lossy into a different lossy format loses it twice.
Can it handle large files and long videos?
Audio is expanded into memory in one piece, so a long video can stop partway on a device without much free memory. The size needed is estimated from the duration and warned about before you start; if you see that, split the file or try it on a desktop browser.
Can I convert several files at once?
